As a designer and color professional, not to mention passionate about art, it’s impossible not to mention and share information about a new museum in Paris that allows visitors to experience art in a new way: by walking around inside of it. The museum is called Atelier des Lumières or Studio of Lights in English, and is filled with over 120 video projectors offering exhibitions made up of giant, animated moving images projected on the walls in a huge space, allowing art enthusiasts to immerse themselves in famous paintings from very well-known artists such as Marc Chagall, Egon Schiele, and especially one of my favorites, the monumental gold-leaf frescoes of Gustave Klimt such as “The Kiss.” A sound surround system with classical music accompanies the digital imagery.
Packing my suitcase now! I’m ready to step into a “colorful” work of art. Let’s go!
